Hey everybody, Ryan here at etrailer. Today on our 2014 Ford F-250, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Curt Fifth Wheel and Gooseneck In Bed Trailer Wiring. So this connector is going to make towing your Fifth Wheel or Gooseneck Trailer just a little bit easier. You're able to just simply plug the trailer wiring directly into here, as opposed to having to drape your wiring over the tailgate, plug it down by the bumper. This is going to simplify things a little bit. You're not going to have to worry about that wiring scratching up your tailgate or potentially coming unplugged. more

Rob: Hey everybody. Rob here at etrailer.com. And today we're going to be taking a look at the Bargman 90 degree fifth wheel and gooseneck wiring kit on our 2005 Ford F350. Now, here's what our wiring looks like once we have it installed. And we chose to mount ours pretty close to the back of the tailgate so it's really easily accessible whenever we hook up our fifth wheel. This is going to give us a nice seven way connector in the bed of our truck and it's going to prevent us from having to drape the cord over the tailgate and hook it up to the bumper. more

This is going to provide us with a seven way plug when we're towing a fifth wheel or gooseneck. What's nice about this being an in bed setup is when we have our gooseneck or fifth wheel hooked up, our wiring can stay inside the bed instead of having to hang over our tailgate and hook into our factory wiring. This plug, once this is installed, it's going to hook directly inline with your factory wiring. You're not going to do any cutting or splicing. What's nice about the inaudible 00:00:39 wiring is on the front of your plug, it's going to tell you what each wire function is. The cap itself is going to be springloaded. It's going to help keep any dirt and debris from getting inside on the plug connections. It's going to have a rubber seal. more

This one happens to be nine foot long, so it gives you good reach. more

On the passenger side we're going to locate those wires that are coming off of our taillights. This is a flatbed model so it's going to have the wires a little bit easier to find on the back end. You just trace your wire loom, it looks like it's got a garden hose here, over the top so it doesn't get frayed. We're going to trace that over the top to this wire loom here. The other end has a T connector, that will plug into the vehicle's pre-existing wiring harness underneath the truck on on this factory 7-pole connector by the bumper. This is a spacer, this actually just goes behind the 7-pole connector to space it out if anything interacts with the backside of our connector here, so that helps out a little bit. Now that we have our location chosen, we're going to need to use a 2 inch hole saw to drill the hole in the side of the bed. Now, we'll go ahead and take the end of our wiring harness with the two plugs on it. We'll need to feed it through the hole. We'll then use the four self-tapping screws, that come with the kit, to secure the plug to the side of the bed. Next, we're going to need to move down here underneath the vehicle. First remove the existing wiring that's already in place so that we can install our new wiring harness. I moved up here to the bed of the truck and as you can see there is already an existing 7-way plug in the bed that's part of the wiring we just undid underneath. This right here is what we'll be removing. Remove a couple screws that hold it in place. The new Bargman gooseneck 5th wheel wiring will actually tie in with the factory wiring and will allow you to use the 7-way down at the bumper as well as the new 7-way plug that will be mounted up here in the bed. more

Today on our 2003 F350 Crew Cab Dually we'll be installing the Hopkins Endurance fifth wheel gooseneck 90 Degree Wiring Harness with 7-pull plug, part number 41157. We're going the go ahead and drill a hole here at the driver side rear on one of the ribs of the bed where it comes up a little bit to allow us a little extra room for the wiring in behind it. Before you drill any holes, make sure there's nothing behind it that could be damaged. First we need to use a hole saw to drill a 2-1/8 hole in our location that we've chosen in the bed. Now we'll go ahead and fish the end of the wiring harness with the two plugs through the hole and down to the ground. We're going to need to choose a location in the bed so we can install our plug. On this truck, this area right in here works really because you're far enough away from the tie-down hook that it doesn't interfere with it, yet you're close enough if there's plenty of wire in the kit to reach the factory seven-way plug, somewhere in that area right there. Now we're going to need to go ahead and drill a two-and-an-eighth inch hole in order for our plug and wiring to fit through it. We'll go ahead and take a file, clean up any sharp edges we may have. Now, we're using a round file on our drill, but just a normal file will work just fine as well. We'll go ahead and vacuum our shavings real quick.
